Maternity Photos Outdoors at Kochelsee

A summer evening, shimmering water, and that kind of anticipation you can feel instantly.

Maternity photos at Kochelsee are not just photos. They’re memories of love, anticipation, and that special season when you’re still two, but already three in your hearts.

Contact

On a warm June evening, I got to photograph a maternity session in the scenic setting of Kochelsee that felt like a mini vacation. Light, warm, full of closeness. And for me, it carried extra meaning: this couple got married at Kreuzjochhaus in 2020 and trusted me back then. It was even more special to see them again now, for another milestone that changes everything: the upcoming birth of their child.

I love when I don’t just photograph couples for one day, but get to accompany them over the years. Because there’s familiarity. Because you don’t have to “warm up” first. And because that comfort in front of the camera shows up right away, making the images feel so honest. You could feel it in every scene during this session.

The Magic of a Summer Evening at Kochelsee

Summer at Kochelsee is the kind of backdrop that simply holds you. In the warm evening hours, the light turns soft, almost golden. It settles over your skin, the mountains, and the water, making everything feel a little gentler. That mood is perfect for maternity photos because it doesn’t look “staged,” it looks like real time together.

The shimmer on the water, the mountain silhouettes in the background, the clear air, it feels like a stage, but never loud. And just like at their wedding back then, everything came together here as well. Not because it was perfectly planned, but because it simply felt right.

Amazing Maternity Photos in the Water: Effortless and So Close

One highlight that evening was the moment they decided to step into the water. No big “okay, now we’re doing it,” more like, “come on, let’s just go.” And that’s exactly how the best images happened. They waded a little way into Kochelsee, the sky reflected on the surface, and the two of them were glowing. That mix of lightness and intimacy is hard to put into words, but you can see it instantly.

For many couples, this is the most beautiful kind of maternity photos: not just standing and smiling, but experiencing. Feeling each other. Forgetting for a moment that a camera is even there. I’ll give you clear, simple prompts so you feel confident, but without pressing you into poses. That’s how images are created that aren’t just beautiful, they’re true.

Client Wardrobe for Your Look: Variety Without the Shopping Stress

By the way, the dresses you see in the photos are part of my client wardrobe, curated specifically for sessions like this. Flowing fabric looks especially beautiful by the lake because it adds movement to the images when a light breeze comes through or when you turn. And with a couple different outfit options, you can create completely different moods, from clean and modern to soft and dreamy, without spending hours searching or shopping beforehand.

We’ll choose together what fits you. Not what you’re “supposed” to wear, but what actually feels like you.

Thank You for Your Trust: From the Wedding to the Baby Bump

As a photographer, it means so much to me when families keep bringing me along on their journey through life. This couple trusted me back at Kreuzjochhaus, and now trusted me again for their maternity photos at Kochelsee. I’m truly grateful for that.
